Building off last Wednesday’s post, today’s Copywriting Practice is an online product description for the smart water bottle.
HydroTech Pro Total Hydration System
You give it your all in everything. All your time, all your focus, all your energy. You deserve equipment that supports you with the same drive you have. At HydroTech, we give it our all too. Introducing our HydroTech Pro Total Hydration System. The world’s first smart water bottle, with advanced tracking sensors to monitor your personal water intake down to the last drop.
Our AI-powered HydroTech app considers your personal bio-information and sends sends alerts to your phone or smart device when it’s time for a water break. For maximum performance, you can initiate HydroWatch mode. The AI will monitor how much you drinking and play a chime when you’ve had enough.
Designed to be durable, light-weight and easy to carry, the HydroTech Pro goes where you do – Equinox, Burning Man, or bouldering in Iceland. Take the guesswork out of life’s most important element with HydroTech.
In a real life situation, I probably would have written this product description first, then the e-mails. Not just because you need a destination for your potential customers, but because my philosophy has always been that all copywriting flows from the product description.

It’s your North Star, your compass. Even when you start marketing to new audience segments, on new platforms, the description reminds you what makes your product so special.
Full disclosure: The prompt (both the product and the audience) was generated by ChatGPT. Any work I put on my blog is 100% written by me.
